The Seafood for Good Accelerator is run by sustainable fishing company Austral Fisheries and social impact accelerator StartSomeGood.

The future of our oceans depends on making ethical, sustainable choices that positively impact our environment. As the Seafood for Good company, Austral Fisheries is committed to making a stand for the better of our oceans – and you can too.

We will select four B2C "solutions" which can increase the consumption of sustainable seafood, and two will ultimately receive funding and support from Austral to launch your product.

Four enterprises will be selected to participate in the accelerator so they will each get a lot of focus and support. Two will then be selected to continue on to test and pre-sell their products through crowdfunding.

WHAT YOU GET

A 12 week accelerator program, delivered virtually, featuring masterclasses, group coaching and individual mentoring to help you design and prepare to launch your sustainable seafood product.

The program includes a 3 week virtual retreat that will be held on the following dates:
16 & 18th of June
- 23rd & 25th of June
- 30th & 2nd of July.


The aim of the retreat is to bring the teams together to spend time with the Austral and StartSomeGood teams.

Once you've succeeded at your test crowdfunding campaign Austral will work with you to set you up as a key partner to commercially launch your product.

Our goal is to help you commercially launch by Summer, the key seafood sales period, with Austral Fisheries, Australia's number 1 sustainable fisheries operator, as your key supplier.

Two solutions will get $25,000 in (non-equity) seed funding from Austral and help to match it via crowdfunding. This is a chance to validate your product and inspire your early adopters. 

You will be working with StartSomeGood, the world's most successful impact crowdfunding platform (by project success rate) who will teach you the formula for fundraising success.

CRITERIA

We are looking for four "solutions" irrespective of the company structure. It can be a startup, a new product from an existing company, a non-profit.

The "solution" must increase consumer knowledge and preference for sustainable seafood. 

Solutions must take the form of a Business-to-consumer product which features sustainable seafood. This can be a ready-to-eat product, a delivery channel, a new approach to connecting consumers to sustainable fisheries.

Must be able to charge a premium for sustainable product.

Must be Australian-based and have the possibility to go national (but can start local)
